Petition for the release of blogger and activist Shiva Nazar Ahari

Ms. Shiva Nazar Ahari is a blogger and a member of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters (CHHR). She was arrested for the second time in 2009 on 20th December 2009, and has been in prison since then.
She has been charged with three crimes: assembly and collusion to commit a crime, propagating against the regime and, the heaviest charge of all, „Moharebeh“ („enmity with god“).

These charges are unfounded, as Ms. Shiva Nazar Ahari has only exercised her rights to freedom of expression and association. Exercising these rights is by no means illegal, nor going against the Quran.

We ask you to release Ms. Shiva Nazar Ahari immediately and unconditionally.
