On 5 November 2001, the UN General Assembly declared 6 November of each year as the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. The purpose is to raise awareness of the environment as an innocent victim of war.

Since ancient times military actions have been doing huge damage to the environment.

War is always detrimental to every thing on earth.It is unnecessary.All problems must be resolved by discussion.Nations do keep armies because of distrust of each other and vanity.Humans have developed enough knowledge to solve problems of living,like health and well being.War must be ruled out as an alternative to talks.
