The 6th World Youth Congress (WYC) is being held from 4-13 June in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro to motivate and inspire youth from around the world to participate actively in sustainable development initiatives in their respective societies. The first such Congress was held in October 1999 in Hawaii. This year, the WYC is being organized close on the heels of Rio+20 UN Summit.

The WYC aims to find credible answers and effective policy solutions to the central Congress series question of "What is the most effective role that youth can play in sustainability?”. Applications are invited from youth between the age group of 18-30. Please visit the Congress website for more information.
